This belt started out as a ”let’s make ourselves a couple of trouser belts for comfortable wear under pack hip belts when doing stuff at work” sort of thing. After a few years of in-house use we decided that this is probably something people would like to buy from us. So here we are, a decent trouser belt à la Savotta.
Adjustments are done using the steel G-hook. The excess length 25 mm webbing can be neatly tucked away behind the belt through the D-ring. The D-ring allows the front of the belt to articulate to conform to your body shape and movement. The non-obtrusive design and construction make these comfortable for wear under backpack hip belts and combat belts.
Sizing
The main body of the belt, made from 40 mm (1,75”) webbing is non-adjustable. The adjustable section, 25 mm (1”) webbing with the G-hook, is attached to a D-ring.
The nominal size is the minimum to maximum adjustment range of each belt size. There is about 10 cm extra adjustment range beyond the nominal maximum size, but when adjusted beyond the nominal maximum size the 25 mm webbing end will no longer be long enough to be tucked away through the D-ring.
If your measured circumference where you wear your trousers is for example exactly 90 cm you are ”in between sizes”. In this situation we recommend choosing the smaller option, 80-90 cm in this example. The adjustment range of the 25 mm webbing is long enough to guarantee that the belt works properly.

The belt is AWESOME. I have been enjoying the belt for maybe a month. The black colour doesn't stand out too lunch while wearing normal blue jeans, and it also fits with hiking gear. I had the super duper smart idea of attaching my dump pouch to the belt, and it worked out great.
Truly an awesome belt aesthetically and functionally. 1000D cordura and the metal clasps will also last for a very long time I hope. Perfect for many things, super good for most.
Only minus is, that I have a difficulty figuring out the adjustment, and where to put the excess. That's a minor detail that doesn't affect the function and often I just tuck it under itself so it looks clean and pleasing still.
The belt also doesn't get dirty easily in daily use, unless you maybe roam around in mud pits.
Very good choice of material. The belt is light but holds the shape and doesn't fold. G hook and size adjustment is very practical and reliable. I love it. Great Job Savotta!
Less is more. Very clever and sleek design: hardly noticeable under a hip or climbing belt and keeps your trousers up whatever you do. Nothing more irritating than your crotch halfway your knees when climbing. Looks good as well! Will order a couple more in different colors.

Liukas ja on vaikeaa löytää sopiva tiukkuus. Ei mukaudu kehon muotoihin, vaan joko roikkuu löysänä tai on liian tiukka. Pyöräilyä varten on pakko löysätä ja sitten taas kiristää, eli tämän vyön käyttö on ollut loputonta veivaamista edestakaisin.

Tricky to install (to pass into the several pant loops), but seems sturdy.
I tried this model to have less material in the middle / the closing section, so it does not interfere with the backpack buckle, which sometimes hurt / pinch the flesh.
So I'm pretty sure it will be an upgrade compare to a standard size !
Idea and design is attractive, but what I don't like and regret that I bought it:
- too abrasive for trousers = but it can be accepted
- the G-hook is weak, under load is slowly bending and I can't rely on this in the wild = showstopper for me
(@Savotta team, if you will improve G-hook, send me one, I can replace it by my self).
Otherwise, I like the job you are doing Savotta.

Yes, the G-hook will bend if enough force is applied. It’s made from unhardened steel, and this material will naturally bend under sufficient load, especially sideways.
If it were hardened, it would be considerably more expensive.
For this reason, the G-hook is not designed to withstand activities such as hanging heavy weight from it, but in normal trouser belt use, or as a compression strap, it will not bend too easily.
Normi vyö n. 95cm, tilasin 90-100cm, mutta jouduin vaihtamaan 80-90cm malliin. Kiristyy helposti ja pitää kireyden erittäin hyvin. Ylimääräisen päädyn piilottaminen vyön läpi ja sen alle on hieman epäkätevä ratkaisu, itse vaan pujotan housun lenkkiin normaalin vyön tapaan.
I have purchased quite many Savotta products but the trouser belt is just something that doesn't work. Maybe it is me but I find it cumbersome to use with the G-hook and a bit hard to tighten as well.

Being based in the UK finding a company who stocks the Black 70-80cm was impossible however I managed to order from elsewhere in the EU and I must say: I am absolutely in love.
I had been looking to get my hands on this belt for a while now and after much deliberation, took the plunge and I am so glad I did. This is going to replace the rest of my daily-driver belts (of which I have many.) It outclasses them in ruggedness, minimalism and flair.
I would whole heartedly suggest this to anyone contemplating getting one.
Sleek design fits all my pants. Getting it through the belt loops is a pain because of the belt is not smooth, too many add ons/ patches and stitches. Hooking from above way to difficult, so I hook from beneath, the opening of the hook up. I’m 80 kg length 185 cm, so it’s not the belly…
The belt works great and is surprisingly comfortable for the material I also really like how it adjust so I'm not just stuck with pre cut holes that might be to tight or loose all around great belt but I probably should have gotten a size up still works great
