Savotta frequently asked questions | FAQ

Welcome to Savotta's FAQ section! Here, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about our gear, warranties, and company policies. Explore the topics below to learn more.

Where are Savotta products made?

Our products are made in our own facilities in Finland and Estonia. Due to the ever-increasing demand some of our manufacturing is done by subcontractors, the select few subcontractors we use are based in Finland, Estonia and Poland. All quality control is done at our headquarters in Karstula, Finland. Read more here.

Does Savotta offer a warranty?

Absolutely. For more information visit our Warranty and claims page.

How to return gear to Savotta?

Returns are accepted within 60 days from the pick-up date. Products must be unused, in their original retailer packaging, and suitable for resale. All tags must still be attached to the product and packaging must be intact.

Detailed instructions can be found here.

Do you ship to my country?

Savotta ships withing the EU. If you live outside the EU, turn to our trusted retailers. The list of retailers can be found here.

Can I change or cancel my order after payment?

You can cancel your order after payment if it hasn’t been processed yet. Cancellations can be made on the order confirmation page, in your customer profile, or via this link: Cancel order.

Once your order has been processed, it can no longer be cancelled.

Changes, such as adding or replacing products to your order after it has been paid, are not possible. If you wish to change the contents of your order, we recommend cancelling the order and then placing a new order with the correct products.

After cancellation, the total amount will be automatically refunded to your account, usually within 2 – 10 banking days, depending on your payment method and bank.

Why hasn't my shipment tracking been updated for several days after I received the delivery confirmation email?

Short answer: Karstula is located in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by bears and moose.

Longer answer: Transport from Karstula to the shipping company’s facility takes time because distances in Finland are long. When the tracking status says “The parcel data was entered into the GLS IT system; the parcel was not yet handed over to GLS.” it means it is on its way from Karstula to the shipping company’s facility. The tracking status will only update once your shipment has been received at the shipping company’s distribution center.

When will my package arrive?

We don’t handle the shipping ourselves, so we can’t give exact estimates. Within Finland, delivery usually takes a few days to a week. Within the EU, most packages arrive within seven business days after dispatch. However, shipping times can vary depending on the carrier and destination. Once your order is dispatched, you’ll receive tracking details to follow its journey.

Why do spark holes appear on the roof of my sauna tent, and how can I prevent or fix them?

Avoiding, tolerating, or patching spark holes is part of the normal maintenance routine of a sauna tent. Although the fabrics are fire-retardant, and self-extinguishing, still sparks and flames can damage and burn holes in the fabric. In normal use the sauna tent will suffer burn holes on the roof at some point when glowing sparks land on the fabric. This is normal wear and tear and easily patched if needed.

Our warranty does not cover any burn damage either through normal use or misuse.

For example, a low air pressure and maybe some flurry wind can cause the sparks to drop straight on the roof rather than fly up from the chimney and fading away. This can happen even a very first time of using the sauna tent. That is a work of nature, and nobody can control that.

An important precaution when using a sauna tent is to try to minimize sparking by using good quality hardwood that produces as less sparks as possible.

Small spark holes don’t ruin the tent and are easy to repair with the tent repair kit on offer. Please note that the kit does not include glue. Any high‑quality contact adhesive will do the job.

Do Savotta backpacks, bags or pouches contain harmful PFC/PFAS compounds?

Our products comply with the strict chemical regulations of ECHA (European Chemical Agency), such as REACH/SVHC and the POP regulation, as well as the safety legislation for products sold within the EU (Regulation (EU) 2023/988). Our
products do not contain PFC / PFAS compounds defined as harmful. The water resistance of our product is based on polyurethane coating and not on PFC treatment.

Are Savotta backpacks, bags and pouches waterproof?

Savotta backpacks, bags and pouches are water resistant but not fully waterproof. While the materials are waterproof, the seams and closure aren’t entirely sealed.

Why are there small holes in my Savotta product?

Some Savotta products may have small holes, which are so-called drill holes. These marks serve as auxiliary marks to guide the sewing process. They do not affect the use, durability or quality of the product in any way, and are not considered manufacturing defects.

Are there two different green options available for Savotta backpacks?

No, there is only one green color option for Savotta backpacks. The perceived difference in color in photos is due to varying lighting conditions. Outdoor lighting, influenced by natural sunlight, creates a more dynamic range of colors, often making greens appear warmer or cooler depending on the time of day, cloud cover, and surrounding environment. Studio lighting, on the other hand, uses controlled artificial light sources, producing a consistent and neutral tone that may make colors appear slightly different from how they would look outdoors.

These variations are natural and expected when viewing products in different lighting environments and on different screens. Rest assured, all our green backpacks use the same high-quality, consistent material.
