Whilst natural foliage is the ultimate helmet camouflage, a 3D effect bushy cover may be the next best thing. Quick and easy to use, easy to modify. These break up helmet silhouettes effectively and offer fast camouflage adaption to various surroundings.
Designwise these are very simple, a single flat piece of 500D Cordura with alternating zig-zag shapes cut into it. The zig-zag pattern positioned so that it creates an opening for NVG mounts at the front. Small slits are cut around the edges for the elastic cord. Thread the elastic cord through the slits, tie it at the back and pull it over your helmet like a shower cap. Finish off by pulling any excess material to the back and rolling it under itself to tighten up the cover.
If you want to tweak the fit, you can play around with threading the elastic cord in various ways through the slits and the actual zig-zag pattern cuts. And if you get really wild and feel the need: you can even cut off excess material from the cover, but such tremendous modifications are of course done on your own risk.

The helmet camo scrim is an excellent fit, even on my helmet with a rear pouch, survival light on top etc. I tried to cover the back side of my plate carrier with it and it works marvelously. Which means I need more than the one for the helmet... Easy to put on, easier still to take off. Feels durable. Looks like it will be very effective. And if its NIR properties are as they claim... what else could you ask from it.

Easy to install, good concealement for area/zone recon's.
I own 3 of these covers. In brown, white and m05 camo. The white and brown both have the same color underside which makes them more effective than the m05 one. It has black underneath it. A very shiny and visible black. It sticks out like a sore thumb. The fabric is too stiff on all of them and it doesnt come with a cord lock to make it easier to adjust...... Decent product with room for improvement

This is almost like a cheat code; cheap, easy, takes no space and overall superior product that does perfectly what it is indented for. Takes about ten seconds to change the camo for the helmet. I have three different colors and can camo cover all seasons, even that nasty autumn/spring where there's areas completely under snow and areas needing other colors to blend in.
