FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Our Medic pack 18L was designed with and for a client of ours, who needed a full-size military medic pack. This is a very do-all kind of design, not tailored for any very specific contents but suitable and adaptable for different types of setups. It can for example fit the full content of the current Finnish Defence Forces M20 medic pack.
The dimensions, compartments and organization options allow for carrying a substantial selection of medical gear. The main compartment is compatible with hook-backed organizers and the PALS webbing on the front and sides of the pack allow you to carry some gear on the outside of the pack for quick access. The side compression straps also allow for quick attachment of extra gear such as our Askare hip pack.
Due to this being a dedicated medical pack there are no hydration bladder compartments, tube/cable/antenna ports or such.
Details and features
The large main compartment (dimensions ca. 25 x 38 x 12 cm) closes with a zipper and opens completely for easy access to contents. The back wall of the main compartment is lined with loop for attaching organizers. The inside of the zippered front flap has two flat mesh pockets with zipper closure.
The front flap has a full-size zippered compartment which is accessible from the outside. This compartment is ca. 3 cm deep on the sides, making rummaging through it easier than if it were entirely flat. The loop surface for patches is a bit clever, the sewn-on contrasting medical cross identifier is made from loop fabric too. Thus the whole 15 x 10 cm area can be used to attach hook-backed patches and identifiers.
The smaller bottom compartment (dimensions ca. 25 x 14 x 12 cm) closes with a zipper and two bottom compression straps. This compartment has no internal pockets or organization options. When not in use, the bottom compartment can be compressed flat against the bottom of the pack.
Two side compression straps with SR on either side of the pack offer both compression and a means of quickly strapping gear to the outside of the pack. The side compression straps can be tucked into the back pad compartment if desired, and the female PALS mount buckles can be removed from the front of the pack.
The front and sides of the pack have PALS webbing for attachment of extra pouches and gear, such as shears, tourniquets and litters.
All outer zippers have two pullers, and all zippers have generous cord loops to silence them and make them easier to use with thick gloves on.
The back is padded and supported with a thick and stiff closed cell foam pad, placed in an open topped compartment on the outside of the pack. The pad can quickly be removed and reinserted. You can use it as a sitting/kneeling pad or use the compartment to carry other equipment, a litter or large hypothermia blankets/bags, for example.
The padded, contoured shoulder straps attach to steel D-rings. The D-rings allow the shoulder straps to turn and conform to various body shapes. The shoulder straps can be removed and replaced if needed. The sternum strap is removable and can be moved up and down the shoulder straps as desired.
A two-part carry handle on the top allows you to quickly grab and carry the pack without closing the zipper. Each side of the pack has a low-profile side carry handle.
Both the main and bottom compartments have water drainage grommets on the bottom. This is a pack that will often get water, snow and slush inside it during use. The drainage grommets allow water to drain out through the bottom pack when hung up to dry.
Rugged and repairable
The main body of the pack is made from 1000D Cordura for high abrasion resistance, with details such as the back pad compartment being made from lighter and less coarse 500D. The outer zippers are covered and have two pullers, so you always have a backup in case one puller fails.
The shoulder straps are easily replaceable if damaged, the bottom straps can be replaced with any length of 25 mm webbing if needed. All plastic buckles can be removed and replaced without sewing.

I am very happy with this medical backpack! Perfect to have in the car in case of an accident. Well planned and organized. Has been reinforced with an extra side pocket for a headlamp etc. So now the medical backpack is made for TNCC/TCCC - fun ;)
I really like the savotta backpack. I didn't know this brand before. I first learned about the mystery ranch backpack. Of course, this backpack is also good. But when I learned about the savotta backpack, I was deeply fascinated. I really like the style design and practicality of the savotta backpack, including the workmanship and materials used. The price is moderate. I bought this medical kit m05 in camouflage color some time ago. This bag is well made. I'm not a doctor. The reason I bought this bag is that I want to carry it during my daily commute. I was attracted by its appearance. It meets all my daily commuting needs. You can stick a smiley face Velcro on the outside of the bag. I also ordered a 12L small savotta bag these days. I want to expand this bag to be used as a secondary bag outside the medical bag. It will be sufficient if I go on a trip. I really like savotta's backpacks and hope you can launch more products. But I have a few questions to ask. The first one is that there is a D-ring at the connection between the shoulder strap of this backpack and the backpack. This shoulder strap can be removed. But if the D-ring breaks, how should it be repaired? The second issue is that some of savotta's secondary bags are equipped with the molle system. Personally, I always feel that this connection system is not reliable when attached to a backpack. It always seems to fall off or loosen. molle system. I trust the molle system with buttons more. It will be firm and won't fall off.

Regarding your first question about the D-ring: those D-rings are made to be extremely durable under normal use and are very unlikely to fail. In practice, the stitched seams of the pack would typically show wear before the D-ring itself. If anything does happen over time, you can always contact our Gear Care service.
For your second question about the PALS system: when it’s properly attached, it’s a very secure method of mounting additional gear. If items feel like they’re loosening or not sitting firmly, it’s usually due to the weaving not being done fully through each row. Making sure the straps are woven tightly back and forth through every loop rather than just clipped at the top and bottom makes a big difference in stability. When used this way, the system should hold gear firmly in place.

Regarding your questions:
The D-ring used in the shoulder strap attachment is extremely durable and designed to withstand very demanding, real-world use. Under normal conditions, it is very unlikely to fail. In an extreme case, the fabric or stitching will probably break way before the metal ring does.
However, in the rare event that something does happen, you can always reach out to our Gear Care service for help with repairs and maintenance.
When it comes to the PALS system, it is a very stable and reliable attachment method when used correctly. Proper weaving of the straps through the webbing rows is key. When securely attached, it will not loosen or fall off during use.

Great Backpack,
since 3 years in use at the Ukrainian frontline in preclinical care and as vehicle bag home.
Durability and longevity of the materials definetly outweigh the price. As visible it gets packed over max by dubious doctors, thrown around, sat on and all zippers and threads hold perfectly until now.
Considering the increasing importance of prolonged field care I would wish for the sidewalls to be 2-3cm higher so I can max out my segments. Too, as discussed the handlebar could be with a magnetic clip rather than velcro so the -open but folded option- is quicker to handle.
Overall a very good backpack which already fits half a clinic! Tuned for your next products especially a solution on non-freezing ampoule kits!

The medic backpack offers a compact and versatile option for carrying all first responder medical kit. It's lightweight, sturdy and great to operate and has proven it's use in recent military training exercises. Highly recommended.

Je cherchais LE sac idéal, celui qui puisse me suivre partout : au quotidien, en escapade pendant les vacances, en avion, sur ma moto, ou encore en mission professionnelle (je suis infirmier anesthésiste en milieu urgentiste). Il devait être capable de contenir les affaires des enfants (change, lingettes, crème solaire, gourde…) tout en restant assez polyvalent pour un usage professionnel, y compris en opex soutien sanitaire.
J’utilisais auparavant un Rush 5.11, excellent mais un peu trop volumineux en profondeur une fois rempli. Après avoir vu plusieurs vidéos de présentation (merci Tim Keys pour l’inspiration !), je me suis laissé tenter.
J’ai donc acheté le sac, un patch velcro avec un sourire pour masquer le côté médical, un élastique pour attacher un K-way, deux pochettes medic (verte et orange) pour organiser l’intérieur, un support d’accessoires en velcro pour lampe et couteau. J’ai aussi testé un porte-gourde externe mais la fixation déséquilibrait l’ensemble, donc retiré rapidement.
Les points forts :
• Design et finition au top : le rendu est vraiment superbe, avec un vrai sentiment de qualité
• Organisation intérieure très bien pensée, surtout avec les pochettes accessoires
• L’extension modulable dans le fond est très pratique
• Le sac reste compact en largeur et profondeur, la longueur dans le dos compense bien
Les points à améliorer :
• L’accès rapide aux compartiments internes n’est pas optimal (mais ce n’est pas sa vocation première)
• Pour le prix, des élastiques de maintien des sangles ou des attaches intégrées seraient bienvenus
• Les bretelles pourraient être plus confortables pour un port longue durée (surtout comparé au Rush 5.11). Pour de longues journées en t-shirt, j’ajouterai sûrement des renforts en mousse type randonnée
En résumé :
C’est devenu mon sac principal, que j’adapte en fonction de mes besoins.

I was looking for THE perfect bag—one that could handle everyday use, follow me on vacation day trips, fit under a plane seat, survive my daily motorcycle commutes, and carry the kids’ essentials (wipes, clothes, sunscreen, water bottle…) while still being professional enough for my job as an anesthesia nurse in emergency and field operations.
I previously used the 5.11 Rush, which is a great bag, but a bit too bulky in depth when fully packed. After watching a few review videos (shout-out to Tim Keys for the inspiration!), I finally went for it.
I picked up the bag along with:
• a smiling Velcro patch to downplay the medical look,
• an elastic strap for attaching a rain jacket,
• two internal medic pouches (green and orange) for better organization,
• and a Velcro accessories panel for a flashlight and knife.
I also tried an external bottle holder, but it threw off the balance—so I removed it quickly.
What I love:
• The design and build quality are just stunning—superb finish and premium feel
• Great organization possibilities with the accessory pouches
• The foldable expansion panel at the bottom is genius
• Compact width and depth, with back length making up for the overall capacity
What could be better:
• Quick access to internal gear isn’t the easiest, but that’s not the bag’s main purpose
• At this price point, it would be nice to include strap keepers or integrated retention loops
• Shoulder straps aren’t the most comfortable (especially compared to the 5.11 Rush). For long days wearing just a T-shirt, I’ll probably add foam hiking-style pads
Bottom line:
This has become my go-to bag, and I customize the interior depending on the day.
NO REGRETS!
The bag is the right size for day trips and of course as a medic/mechanic use. It has also potential as hiking bag du to the modular build. To get the bag there it needs some investment with the hook and loop inserts. This makes it costly.
