Over the decades, our logo has evolved, reflecting different eras and design trends. One of our longest lived logos, the iconic backpacker depiction of a hiker carrying a backpack, has been with us from almost the very beginning, even though there has been many variations of it on the way.
As companies embraced global branding in the late 20th century, logos became simpler and more versatile. Savotta followed suit, transforming the backpacker into a minimalist “S” logo in the late 1980s. Look closely, and you’ll see it’s still a figure carrying a pack, just in its most stripped-down form. This logo remained in use until the early 2000s. You can still spot traces of this logo in the top corner of our current ‘S.
