Full description

Elastic 4-point X-harness made entirely from webbing. 40 mm (1,75”) wide shoulder area and 25 mm (1”) wide webbing ends with tri-glide buckles for belt attachment. Designed for unobtrusive wear under body armour, thus the low profile and lack of padding. The intersection on the back is made from elastic cord which offers generous and adjustable elasticity.

An elastic belt harness is generally best for lighter loads, as elasticity (although it offers additional comfort) may sag under heavy weight. We also offer a non-elastic harness model, the Valjas H-harness, for those looking to carry heavier loads.

The 25 mm (1”) lengths of webbing are long enough to fit most people. The open-end design with tri-glide buckles allows the straps to be attached directly to belts by simply looping the webbing around the belt, or to buckles, D-rings or loops of elastic cord if so preferred by the user.

I use the Valjas EX-Harness as suspenders with a very stiff Terra-B Delta Belt duty belt and my UF Pro trousers. Regular suspenders often can't securely hold heavy combat trousers. In combination with the Valjas EX-Harness and the belt, I can carry my combat trousers and equipment, such as knives or smaller pouches, securely, without slipping or wobbling, and without everything being pulled down by the weight. Since I'm a civilian and practice bushcraft, it's not quite as important for me that I can wear the harness under body armor. For me, this is the best solution, and it has proven itself very well.

Got mine just a couple days ago and my first impressions. As described it is really for lighter loads, but does what is expected. One thing I miss is the loop to strap the end pieces of the harness around so they don't flop around freely. That's why only four stars, but as a handy forest dwelling craftsman I'm sure I can make my own.

You can find Elastic strap keepers on our website. These will keep them nicely tucked away. And as you already mentioned, these are pretty straight forward to make at home also.
